Congrats to Graham on his new paper, “Dual-Resonance (16/32 MHz) Piezoelectric Transducer With a Single Electrical Connection for Forward-Viewing Robotic Guidewire,” which was just published in the April issue of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control! This article describes development of a sub-millimeter transducer that can image simultaneously at two frequencies (high resolution and high penetration depth) on the end of a robotically-steered guidewire to allow interventionalists to navigate beyond chronic total occlusions during peripheral revascularization procedures. Thanks to our collaborators Timothy Brumfiel, Zach Bercu, and Jaydev Desai for making this possible. The paper can be found here.
